At Meet Me There Eco Lodge, sustainability is not a trend — it is the foundation of everything we do. We believe travel should leave a positive impact on both the environment and the local community, and we are constantly striving to create a more responsible and meaningful way to experience hospitality.

Our commitment to sustainability includes:

• Being powered by the sun through renewable solar energy

• Using compost toilets in 80% of our rooms to reduce water waste and environmental impact

• Serving a food and drinks menu that is close to 0% import-free, supporting local farmers, fishermen, and producers

• Prioritising employment from our surrounding local communities

• Striving to be single-use plastic free throughout the lodge

• Supporting local artisans and small businesses through our entrepreneurship programme

• Contributing directly to the work of Dream Big Ghana, with every guest stay helping fund community programmes.

 

We also believe sustainability extends beyond the environment — it includes how we care for our team . In an industry often defined by long hours and burnout, we are proud to be helping change the narrative around hospitality work.

We employ 28 full-time members of our local community and are committed to creating a healthy and balanced working environment. Our team works a maximum of 40 hours per week because we believe that a rested, valued, and supported team creates a warmer, happier experience for everyone. A strong team is a happy team, and that energy is felt throughout the lodge.
